Hopefully everyone had a wonderful and productive “Dead Period” and a great 4th of July!
It’s great to get back with the runners and see how much they’ve progressed in the course of just 10 days!
Starting this week the Men’s XC team will be making a slight adjustment to the summer conditioning schedule – Fridays will be treated as an “on your own” day much like the weekend. This means we will be meeting Monday through Thursday (same times and locations as before), but now Fridays are up to you to get the job done! Why such a change? As coaches, we love to see the dedication put in by all our athletes, but we have to be realistic about the fact that this is your summer break and it shouldn’t be completely defined by non-stop running.
That being said, this isn’t a free pass to take Fridays off, but use it as an opportunity to catch up on sleep/recovery, pick up an extra shift at your summer job, or be a leader and organize a group run!
