I recently came across a fantastic article by college & pro coach Steve Magness, who talks about the importance of maintaining a balanced life style.
Think for a moment, what does it mean to have a balanced life style? Some of the things that may have come across in your mind may have to do with your training – running enough miles, lifting weights properly, etc. You may have even thought about the types of foods you eat and what kind of nutrition they offer. You might recall Coach Simmons’s great piece talking about the sleeping cycle in the November Newsletter. The linked article however, talks about life’s stressors and how they can affect your training regiment. We all have many different types of stressors in life, but it’s the “how you control and balance the non-running aspect of your life” that could ultimately be the biggest positive impact in your training!
